Privacy Notice

A note before anything else

Camllo Coghina is a recipe journal. You can read every page of it without creating an account, without giving us your name, and without handing over an email address. This notice exists to explain, in ordinary language, the small amount of information that moves in the background whenever anyone reads anything on the internet, and what we do and do not do with it.

Reading here is anonymous

We do not ask visitors to register, subscribe or sign in. There are no comment forms, no newsletters and no membership areas on this site. The recipes are simply here to be read and cooked.

The server's logbook

Like practically every website, the servers that deliver these pages keep short lived technical records: the IP address a request came from, the type of browser used, the pages requested, and the date and time. These records help keep the site running and secure. They describe devices and requests, not named individuals, and we make no attempt to connect them to any person.

About cookies here

Cookies are small text files a browser stores on your device. This site does not set cookies for its own editorial features. Cookies you may encounter here come from advertising, described in the next section. Every modern browser lets you view, restrict or delete cookies through its settings, and the site remains fully readable with cookies switched off.

Google AdSense, named plainly

We may display advertising served by Google AdSense to support the cost of publishing. Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to show ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this and other websites. This is worth being direct about, so here are the relevant references:

Counting visits

We may use simple aggregate measurement to understand which recipes are read most, in the form of totals and trends rather than individual profiles. What we look at is the shape of the readership, never the identity of a reader.

If you email the kitchen

If you choose to write to us at the address in the box below, we will receive whatever your message contains, usually your email address and your words. We use that information for one purpose only: replying to you. We do not add correspondents to marketing lists, and we do not sell, rent or trade anyone's contact details, ever.

What we keep, and for how long

Technical logs rotate and are deleted on a short cycle set by our hosting providers. Correspondence is kept only as long as it takes to resolve whatever it raised. We have no databases of visitor profiles to retain in the first place.

Younger visitors

This site publishes recipes and is written for a general audience of home cooks. It is not directed at children under thirteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Where this site is read from

These pages can be read from anywhere in the world, and the servers that deliver them may be located in various countries. By using the site you accept that the limited technical information described above may be processed wherever those servers operate.

Updates to this notice

If our practices change, this page will change with them, and the revision date at the top will move forward. Continued use of the site after an update means the current version applies.
